OTHER CLASS OPTIONS
What would YOU like to learn?
Aside from the courses that appear in our current schedule, we would like your input on what YOU would like to learn! What additional classes would you be interested in joining? What mediums have you always wanted to work with? Please contact us to let us know if you are interested in any of the following subjects or mediums, or if you have any other ideas for us to consider. With enough interest, we will be thrilled to add it to our schedule!
Life Drawing (Adult) – Dates are announced a week before the event
This is an open studio setting where adults are given the opportunity to draw life models without instruction. Students considering art as a career are encouraged to draw from the figure as much as possible. Those under 16 years of age must provide written permission from a parent or guardian.
These classes generally run on Sundays between 10am and 1pm.
The cost for this program is $20.00 per person per class. Fee must be paid on the day prior to class.
Life Drawing sessions run based on interest. If you would like to attend a Life Drawing class, please contact us so that we can add you to our email list. Be sure to check our website as well for upcoming classes and workshops.
Costumed Model Extended Pose Painting Day – Dates are announced several weeks before the event
These sessions run on Fridays from 10 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. The model is clothed and will hold one pose (with breaks) for the full day
This is a great opportunity to develop a painting over a period of 6 hours. Artists bring their own materials and the choice of medium is yours whether it be oil, acrylic, watercolour or one of your favourite dry mediums.
There is no instruction but the group is limited to 8 people so there are many opportunities throughout the day for robust discussions.
Portfolio Preparation (Teen)
This is a very special program designed for advanced youth and teens. The goal of this program is to help students prepare a suitable body of work for college and university applications. In this course, students will have the opportunity to advance their skills in areas such as drawing, painting, sculpture and more. The instructor’s priority is to help students develop an impressive portfolio by the end of the ten week session.
Join us and discover how to use the new acrylic gels and mediums to create loose and expressive works of art. Modern materials offer a uniquely versatile opportunity to explore traditional materials together with found objects and create a piece of art that will stand out in the crowd.
