DRAWING AND MIXED MEDIA (TEEN/ADULT)
This course is designed to help students improve their overall art practice by learning the fundamentals of drawing. Working primarily from still life objects, students will cover basic drawing techniques and learn how to look at an object and render it in a structural drawing. A focus will be placed on observational skills and techniques such as gesture, proportion, perspective, contour, value and tonal study. Using graphite, charcoal, pen and ink with washes and scratchboards, students will have the opportunity to explore elements such as value and contrast in detail.
When possible, students are encouraged to expand on their drawing abilities by attending Life Drawing sessions.
